A note on credit checks
Choosing "Pay in 4" with Affirm or Klarna, or just checking if you pre-qualify, only involves a soft credit check. Soft checks don't affect your credit score, and other lenders can't see them.
A hard credit check, the kind that can temporarily lower your score, only comes into play in specific situations: with Affirm, that's typically for larger, longer-term loans over $1,000; with Klarna, it's if you choose a longer financing plan with interest instead of splitting your purchase into four payments.
Either way, you'll see exactly what type of check applies before you finalize anything. Both services are required to show this on the checkout screen, so you can always confirm before you commit.
